The 180 grt Aberdeen steam trawler Evergreen was built in Govan in 1903. Returning to Aberdeen, she ran aground on the shore between Rosehearty and Sandhaven on the 18th of January 1936 during a snowstorm. The Fraserburgh life-saving apparatus stuck in a snowdrift and a lorry had to be sent from Rosehearty to collect it and bring it to the scene of the wreck. By this time, the Fraserburgh lifeboat had arrived and took off all nine crew who were returned to Fraserburgh. The exact position of the wreck is not known, but a likely area to start a search would be around 57° 42’N 02° 05’W.
