The 79 grt steam drifter South Tyne foundered in the 'Rosehearty fairway' on the 14th of July 1933. She has never been found by divers - most probably due to the vague nature of the reported location and the simple fact that no-one has bothered looking! A possible location would be the area around 57° 42.13’N 02° 06.74’W just off the harbour mouth, however she could well be the charted obstruction 2miles north-east (in a direct line with the harbour entrance) at 57° 43.50’N 02° 04.80’W.

Any information or stories about shipwrecks in the Rosehearty area would be greatly appreciated - please contact the source of these pages, Roger Mathison.
