I WORKED IN THE ALEXANDRA HOTEL FOR A NUMBER OF YEARSUNTIL I LEFT TO TRAIN AS ANURSE IN DUNDEE IN MAY 1966 I WORKED IN DUNDEE FOR 16YRS.AS A STAFF NURSE ,CHARGE NURSE AND LATERLY AS A NURSING OFFICER DDURING MY TIME IN DUNDEE I MET MARION WHO BECAME MY WIFE IN 1975 AND WE HAD A DAUGHTER LESLEY-ANNE BORN 07/07.78 ILEFT DUNDEE IN 1980 TO TAKE UP A POST OF COMMISSIONING OFFICER FOR A NEW HOSPITAL NEAR JOHNSTONE RENFREWSHIRE WHERE I REMAINED AS NURSING OFFICER UNTIL I RETIRED IN 2003 IN MAY 2003 I HAD DOUBLE BY-PASS HEART SURGERY WHICH RECOVERED WELL FROM I COME TO ROSEHEARTY A COUPLE OF TIMES A YEAR TO VISIT MY SISTER AND BROTHER I HOPE TO RETURN ONE DAY TO STAY AS I CAN'T THINK OF A BETTER PLACE TO RETIRE TO

It seems like half the world originated in Rosehearty. My G Grandfather, John Duthie, was born 1 Loch St 1860 left in about 1880. I've been trying to research all the Duthie (and Ritchie)family of Rosehearty - but I'm sure someone has done it already. If so I would be really pleased to hear from you.

I actually lived in Aberdeen from 1985 until 1992 and have passed your town more than a few times on the way to wherever on my many journeys through Scotland.

I found your website as I was doing research for my class. I have entered the Master of Education at AIU-Online. I was curious about Sir Walter when I visited the Murdoch university's website. My father's life parallel's Sir Walter's father as he was a Lutheran minister in a small community. Though I doubt our family line meshes, I did find it interesting that Sir Walter has a similar look to my father. I also found it interesting that there are similar names used in both our families. This just goes to show you that you never know what you will find when you are surfing the internet! I am glad to have found your website.
