- I visited Rosehearty in Sept. 97. My grandfather was born and
raised there and my great aunt still lives in Rosehearty. It was
really interesting to see the house and the town in which my grandfather
lived. He now lives in Windsor, Ontario Canada. My family's last
name is Ritchie.

and I am able to find my way round a lot more easily. Gotta go
to bed now, and come back when I have a little more time to explore
more thoroughly. Like what I see very much indeed. All the best

- I was born in Aberdeen and will be home this summer for vacation
and to update my family tree. Not a bad site to learn about small
areas of Scotland. Wish more people would take an interest in
their country. I hope to visit you this summer as I tour the coast

- I found the site some time ago and have been a regular visitor.
I asked Paul, the co-webmaster, if he'd mind running down the
road and taking a picture of the house my dad was born in back
in 1912. Paul knocked on the door to ask permission to take pictures
and found that my dad's cousin on his mother's side still lives
there! Thanks Paul, for helping me make this family connection.
I'll be back a lot to see what's new!

- I was stationed at Mormond Hill with the US Air Force from 1987
to 1989. I lived in Rosehearty for about half of that time. I
have some fun memories of the town, especially "helping"
Billy and Edna up at the Cliff View Inn. I was a little disappointed
that I could get the "Sayings of Rosehearty" WAV files
to work. I wanted to hear them again. (I couldn't understand a
word you folks were saying when I first got there, but I got better.)

- Had a good wander round. Liked the bird list, you seem well
endowed; a few names there that brought back memories, especially
corncrake amd waxwings. Really liked the dialect/language section;
is that a mix of English and Gaelic or English and danish? Pitsligo
Castle looks like a good one! Yours is the first community web
page that I've visited. Looks really good, and a great concept.
I found the history interesting too.

going to the baker for a mucker. What was the name of the Baker?
I could go on. Love your site. Faes like us Damned few and

- Terrific stuff! I thought it was Rosemarkie where I've been,
not Rosehearty where I've not (yet!) Makes me homesick for Scotland.
I've not been back for nearly seven years. When I do I'll definitely
go to the hearty version.
