I lived in Rosehearty from 1988 to 1991 while station at RAF Mormond
Hill with the US Air Force. I lived next to the Peter West family
on Cairnhill Dr with my wife Emily. We loved our time there and
would like to visit again sometime. If you are from Rosehearty,
please say hi to the Wests as well as Billy and Edna Simpson for
me (I really can't see the Simpson's with a computer. Your website
brought back many fond memories.

Excellent site!! Even a "Rizarty ingin" like me, found
it very informative. More local history of bye-gone days and old
area photographs, would be much appreciated.

Great site, I spent every summer in Rosehearty or Fraserborough
with family, brings back many memories, great site. I am trying
to locate a two missing John Ritchie's one left the country bound
for the USA in 1916. The other has just retired from the Diplomatic
Core, if you know of them please e-mail me.

- Great Site! My grandfather, John Ritchie was born in Rosehearty
c1883 and arrived in Australia in c1922 with his wife Jessie (a
native of Orkney) and their 3 sons James, William & John.
Grandfather had conducted a chemist shop in Sromness prior to
emigrating. They eventually settled in Maryborough where he conducted
a pharmacy until his death in 1945 whereupon John took over. William
(my father) & family have owned the local newsagency for 47
years. Will call in from time to time. Keep up the good work.

- I and three of my grown-up children (Justin, Nicky, and David)
visited Rosehearty last weekend, 4-6 July 1998 to celebrate the
birth of my father Lawrence Ogilvie on 5 July 1898 at the Rosehearty
Manse. Our 1900ish photo of my father aged one or so in the arms
of his mother was identified to be at the door of the existing
Manse (with the same steps and hall flooring!). Lawrence's mother
was born Elizabeth Lawrence at Gowanhill, Rathen, Fraserburgh:
she married William Paton Ogilvie 2 July 1891 in Rathen.

- Excellent to see so much information on your web site. My family
and I had a very interesting time visiting Rosehearty last weekend,
tracing back some of our family history. My grandfather, Lawrence
Ogilvie, was born in Rosehearty in 1898. His father was the minister
William Paton Ogilvie. It was also good to meet Paul and John,
who informed us about their web site. Justin
